Quality rating, restrictions and bans — and how to avoid them

Where to look. WhatsApp Manager → Phone numbers shows two things for each number: a quality rating — green, yellow or red, from how customers reacted to your messages in the last 7 days (blocks and «report spam» count most) — and a status: Connected, Flagged, or Restricted.

What happens when quality drops. Red quality makes the number Flagged. If it does not recover within 7 days, Meta lowers the messaging limit one level and the status becomes Restricted: until the limit resets you cannot start new conversations, only reply. Replies to customers who wrote you keep working in every state. A single template that people complain about is paused or disabled on its own; several of them pull the whole number down.

Why Meta bans a number or an account — four causes cover almost every case: broadcasts to people who did not agree to them (complaints and blocks); a business portfolio that does not match the website — the site is down, a social-network page is given as the site, the legal name or address differs from the site's footer, there is no privacy policy; goods or services Meta's commerce policy forbids on the site; and scam signals — ambiguous «verify your account» messages, requests for card numbers. Meta names the cause in Business Support Home, where the appeal is filed too.

How SIPmind keeps you out of it. The do-not-contact list is honoured on every send — campaigns, reminders, follow-ups and automation rules all skip a person who asked you to stop, and a campaign excludes those who opted out before it is created, so the count you see is the count that goes out. The AI replies inside the window and never starts conversations by itself. Templates are read from Meta with their current category and status, so a paused one cannot be chosen.

What to do yourself. Send marketing only to people who agreed to it, and give every marketing template an unsubscribe button — one tap for the customer, and one less complaint; keep the business portfolio identical to the website, letter for letter, with a privacy policy that mentions messaging; if a template goes red, stop sending it and write a new one — the same text will not be approved again; and when you plan a large campaign, start with a few hundred people and look at the quality rating the next day before sending the rest.

If it already happened. Flagged: pause broadcasts for a week and keep answering. Restricted: the same, and wait for the limit to reset. Banned: open the case in Business Support Home, fix what it names (the site, the portfolio, the templates) and appeal; Meta usually answers within 48 hours. A number banned for spam is rarely returned — which is why the rules above are cheaper than the cure.
