WhatsApp · your own number
Link the WhatsApp your clients already write to — your usual number, with its chats and groups — the way WhatsApp Web is linked. Messages arrive in Chats, on the client card and in your team group, like any other WhatsApp chat; the thread carries the line it came in on.
- Integrations → WhatsApp · your own number → tick that you understand the risk → Show the QR code.
- On the phone with that number: WhatsApp → Settings → Linked devices → Link a device, and point the camera at the code. The card shows the linked number within a few seconds.
- Decide whether the assistant answers on this number (The assistant answers on this number). Off, people answer from Chats, the app or the team group, and the assistant stays quiet.
The risk. This is not WhatsApp's official connection, and WhatsApp may block a number it takes for a robot. On this number the assistant answers only people who wrote first, waits a few seconds showing «typing…», keeps to a limit of answers per hour and per day, stays out of a chat for two hours after someone answered it from the phone, never writes in groups and never sends mailings. For mailings, templates and the verified badge use the official WhatsApp.
Groups. Messages from groups arrive in your team group with the author's name; answer them by replying to that message. The assistant never writes in a group.
When it stops. If the phone is logged out or WhatsApp ends the session, the team group is told and the card asks for a new QR code. Unlinking keeps every chat in the history.
The link works on Evolution API, an open-source WhatsApp engine (Apache 2.0), run on our own servers.
