Your own WhatsApp: not getting blocked, and what to do if it happens
Your own number is linked the way WhatsApp Web is — as a device next to your phone. WhatsApp allows that. What it blocks is a number that behaves like a robot or that people report. A few habits keep the number safe.
Before you link
- A real phone. Keep WhatsApp on a real phone — never register the number in an emulator or a «virtual phone» service: WhatsApp recognises them and blocks for good.
- A warmed-up number. A brand-new number, or one that was just unblocked: use it from the phone for a day first, with ten to fifteen live chats, then link it.
- The phone stays online. SIPmind's connection runs from our servers, not from your phone; a phone that is in use every day is what tells WhatsApp the account is a real person's.
Every day
- Write first only to people who know you. A stranger may press «Report»; after several reports WhatsApp blocks the number. New chat in Chats is for your clients, not for cold outreach.
- No mailings. For a message to many people use the official WhatsApp (Broadcasts), never your own number.
- The assistant on this number answers only people who wrote first and waits like a person typing; leave it that way.
If the number stopped working
Chats shows a red notice and your team is told. Open WhatsApp on the phone:
- WhatsApp works on the phone — the phone was off, offline, or the device was unlinked. Turn the phone on; if Chats still shows the notice, link the number again: Integrations → WhatsApp · your own number → Show the QR code.
- WhatsApp says the number is blocked — press Request a review in the app, once. WhatsApp usually answers within a day; asking again does not speed it up. Once it is unblocked, use the number from the phone for a day, then link it again, with the phone on mobile internet.
- Blocked for good — the number cannot come back. Register a new number on a phone that was never blocked, warm it up, then link it.
Every chat stays in your history whatever happens to the number. For mailings, templates and the verified badge the official WhatsApp has none of these risks.
